Velvet x Male reader! Memories Shattered! Part 6

You wake up the next morning around 10 am.  You get up, and walk out to see the doctors.  They run some tests on you and make for sure that you can walk without any help.  Just to be safe, Ozpin dropped off a cane similar to his so that you could use it until you had fully recovered from your concussion.


(y/n): Great, I get to look like Ozpin now...


You grab the cane, and start to head out of the medical wing.  As you were heading back to your room, you got quite a few stares from students and teachers walking by.  Either the bandage on your head looked weird, the cane looked weird, or EVERYONE knew what happened... Either way, you just kept walking back to your dorm... When you got there, you opened the door and plopped onto your bed.


(y/n): BED! I missed you so much!


You then got up and just looked around for a moment... You decided to go see Ozpin just to let him know you were out.  You leave your dorm and head to the elevator.  You go up and the doors open... Revealing Ozpin...And Ironwood...


Ozpin: Ah (y/n), you're out... How are you doing?


You keep your eyes on Ozpin, not wanting to look at the General.


(y/n): I'm much better... Although, I'm not sure if this cane suits me.

Ozpin: Oh, it'll only be for a few days, I just want to make sure that you're up and ready to walk like normal.

(y/n): And for that, I thank you.


Awkward silence fills the room.  You still decide not to look at Ironwood.  You finally were about to leave when Ozpin says something.


Ozpin: Well, I guess I shall be walking around the campus... You two have the office.


Ozpin then gets on the elevator and leaves...Silence is the only thing that happens for a few minutes, then he finally says something.


Ironwood: ...I'm sorry (y/n)... I really am... I just... Got so mad when you said you have rather been dead... I just... With all the times we argued, it just got me more and more angrier until I saw you kissing one of Ozpin's students and I... I just flipped...

(y/n): Cause sorry just makes it all better doesn't it? Look, James... I get that you just want me to be proper and not talk to anyone "below" me... But that's who I am... I'm not ready to be an officer or a combat teacher if those are your standards... You could've killed me! Hell, I could've lost all my memories with that damn robotic arm of yours...

Ironwood: H-how did you know?

(y/n): HOW DID I KNOW?! YOU FUCKING PUNCHED ME IN THE HEAD WITH IT! HOW ELSE WOULD I KNOW?!

Ironwood: ...oh...yeah... Look (y/n), I'm sorry, I really am...I see you like a son, and I've been being over the top...

(y/n): I didn't know dads punched their sons in the head if they aren't doing something right by THEIR standards! I'm not a bobble head!

Ironwood: (y/n)..

(y/n): I'm gonna be walking around... I don't want to talk about this anymore... Just... Let me live my life like I want to... I don't mind being in Atlas... But if you just can't stand me talking to other people... Then I will give you my badge and uniform, and I'll be on my way...

Ironwood: ...


With that, you leave and head down to the campus.  You decide to get lunch and you see team RWBY and JNPR eating.  Ruby spots you and just about scares the whole cafeteria.


Ruby: (y/n)!!!

Yang: MY BABY MAKER IS BACK!

Blake: Really Yang?

Weiss: Glad to see you're ok (y/n)

Jaune: Yeah dude, what happened?

Pyrrha: Jaune, maybe he wants to keep it private.

Ren: ...

Nora: PANCAKES!

(y/n): It's nice to see you all too... It's kinda a long story... I just don't really wanna talk about it, I came down here to get some food, so I'll go do that, I'll meet you guys back here at the table.

Ruby: Alright!


You leave to go get lunch, and then come back and sit at the table, next to Yang.


Yang: So tell me (y/n)~ You need any help walking?~ Or baby making?~

Ruby: YANG!

Yang: Oh relax, I'm kidding Ruby, geez.

Ruby: What?

Yang: Yeah, he's with Velvet.


The whole table then slowly turns to you.


JNPR and RWBY: WHAT?!?!?

(y/n): Yeah...Wait, how did you know Yang?

Yang: Oh, like it takes a genius to see how she feels about you, she's fallen head over heels for you.

(y/n): Y-you think? I mean, yeah we're dating, but I didn't know she felt that way about me.

Yang: Dude, she would conquer the world for you.

(y/n): ok, but I certainly don't want her to.

Yang: I was just using it as an example.

(y/n): I know.

Weiss: When did this happen?

(y/n): Uh... 3 days ago?

Blake: The day you got...hit in the head?

(y/n): Technically yes because we met at midnight of that day... So yeah...

Ruby: How'd you guys get together...

(y/n): Well... Did anyone say anything about my memory while I was out?

Weiss: Actually, the General told us how he rescued you when you were 6 and raised you since.

(y/n): Well... I forgot everything before I was 6...But apparently I lived at an orphanage around Vale, and Velvet was at the park the same time I was as kids... So apparently we used to play together all the time... She liked me because I never made fun of her for being a faunus... So we became best friends quick... And I guess one day, I got moved and never came back... She told me all of this when we met by the fountain at midnight a couple of nights ago... And well...We kissed... And the rest is history...

Ruby: SO CUTE!

Weiss: That is pretty adorable I suppose

Blake: That's just really nice of you to not see her as an animal, you see her as who she is.

(y/n): Just like I see you?

Blake: UM...What do you mean?

(y/n): Don't think I can't see that bow twitch from time to time?

Blake: ...I see... I may need to be a little more careful with that then.

(y/n): I bet you look fine without it...

Ruby: We've all said that, but-

Blake: I'm just not ready yet...I'll know when the time is right.

(y/n): Ok... And we'll all back you up...Me included.

Blake: R-really? What will the General say? Especially if he sees you here?

(y/n): He can kiss my ass, if he gets pissed like that again, I'm quitting.


Silence filled the table for a little bit.  You all get up and start to walk around for a little.  They all make fun of your cane for a little bit.


Weiss: I'm just saying, you could totally look like Ozpin if you got the gray hair and coffee cup.

(y/n): The cane wasn't my idea.

Ruby: Maybe Ozpin wanted to make a doppelgänger?


They all just laughed, you just kept walking, then they all eventually caught up to you.


(y/n): This is nice... Thank you all.

Jaune: What do you mean?

(y/n): Well... I've never had friends before...I don't think I've talked to more than 10 people in my entire life...And having people like you all... Thanks...

Ruby: Aw, It's not a big deal (y/n), you're a really nice guy! and funny too!

(y/n): Yeah... At least I'm not Weiss... Cause I'm funny...But she's FUNNY looking!


They all start to cry of laughter.  Weiss wasn't too thrilled, but laughed it off.


Yang: Ok, you're a keeper, you're almost as funny as me!

Jaune: Yang, his jokes are WAYY better than yours.

Yang: WHAT DID YOU SAY BLONDIE?!


Yang's hair and eyes start to glow.



Jaune: ...nothing... your jokes are great...

Yang: Great! I knew they were!

Ruby: And that's why we tolerate her.

Yang: Did you say something sis? (cracks knuckles)

Ruby: NOPE, NOT ME


You all just chuckled and kept walking around campus...  After walking for a while, it started to get late...You decide to part ways with the teams and head back to your dorm.


(y/n): I haven't had this much fun since... Well, since ever! I don't think I've ever had this much fun before!...Wow... I just realized I haven't been this happy before in my life...Maybe that's supposed to mean something...


You head to bed, thinking about Velvet...Hoping she was ok...


TIMESKIP.


Throughout the next few days, you kept using your time to walk around campus to make sure you could walk, hell, even run without the stupid cane. You also spent a lot more time with teams RWBY and JNPR.  You hadn't seen the General since that day in the office and it was the day of the dance.  Velvet and her team still weren't back.   You're sitting on a bench, it's about 5pm, and you spot Weiss and Yang walking towards you, both wearing white dresses.


(y/n): Wow! You girls look amazing!

Weiss: Thanks (y/n)

Yang: That's sweet of you to say... I'm sorry Velvet and her team aren't gonna be here for it.  They should've been done with their mission by now.

(y/n): Yeah... I just hope they're ok.

Yang: Yeah...Well, we're headed over to finish setting up some things before the dance... You're coming right?

(y/n): Eh, I don't know, maybe.

Weiss: You should, we worked our butts off for it.

(y/n): ..Well, alright, I guess I get to pull my officers uniform out.

Yang: I like it when you wear that uniform~

(y/n): T-thanks?

Yang: I'm kidding...Anyway, I'll give you a dance if you'd like since Velvet isn't gonna make it.

(y/n): ...I'd actually like that a lot... Thanks Yang.

Yang: Only as friends though, I'm not gonna steal you from her.

(y/n): I know


With that, they head over to where the dance was being held and you walk back to your room, to get changed and head to the dance.


(y/n): I just wish team CFVY made it back in time... I would've loved to have danced with Velvet...


You get dressed and head down to the dance floor.  It wasn't going to start for another hour or so, so you went and helped finish setting things up.  When you, Weiss, and Yang finished, people started rolling in like no tomorrow.  After most people were here, Ruby came looking amazing.


Yang: AW! You look beautiful!

(y/n): You look great Ruby!

Ruby: Thanks.  Tell me again how Weiss fights in these?

(y/n): None of us will ever know

Yang: I hope you have fun tonight little sis!


Yang then looks at you.


Yang: So (y/n), when do you want that dance?~

(y/n): Not just yet... I need to go get some air, I'm gonna be on the balcony for a few minutes, if that's alright.

Yang: Yeah, no problem, just let me know when you want that dance~

(y/n): O-ok.


You leave and head out to the balcony, Jaune and Neptune just left... You stand there and look to the sky.


(y/n): Wish you could be here... My honey bunny...


Just then, Ozpin and Ironwood appear from behind.


Ozpin: Beautiful evening isn't it?


You turn around to see them.


(y/n): Oh...Yeah, it is...

Ozpin: I see you're still using the cane.

(y/n): I don't know Ozpin, It's kinda growing on me, I see why you use one.

Ozpin: Ha, well, it has it's purposes...

Ironwood: You look great in your officers uniform (y/n)

(y/n): ...Thanks... You too...


Ozpin leaves and it's just you two by the balcony...


Ironwood: Look...For what's it worth... I don't blame you for hating me... I've tried to raise you how I would've raised my own...And you were just made from a different cloth... I tried changing who you were... I raised you almost exactly how I was raised... But, the one thing you never forgot were your wants and desires...To have friends and love...Something I grew up without... I thought that if I raised you like I was...It would have the same effect...And we would truly be like father and son...

(y/n): ...So your definition of father and son is to be exactly the same?

Ironwood: No, bu-

(y/n): James... I see right through you... That's exactly what you meant...

Ironwood: ...I'm sorry (y/n)...Forgive me...


You're about to walk out when you stop in front of him...


(y/n): You saved me...Raised me...Fed me...Taught me... You raised me like a loner... But none the less... You did what nobody else wanted to...My parents for whatever reason didn't want me... Or maybe they died after I was born, I don't know... But you did everything for me... THAT... That is a definition of a father in my book...


He looked at you and a single tear dropped from his eyes.


Ironwood: (y/n)...


You both came in and gave each other a hug... It was the first time you had ever hugged... And it was great...


Ironwood: Here.


Ironwood handed you a revolver.


(y/n): Uh what?

Ironwood: I have another one just like it right here...But I want you to have the second one... I...Want you to have that other half of me... Just in case you need it... You have it.

(y/n): T-thank you.

Ironwood: Alright... Shall we go back to the dance?

(y/n): Sure.


With that, you put the revolver in your jacket and head down to the dance... Right when you and Ironwood head down the stairs, you couldn't believe your eyes! Velvet walking in with team CFVY! wearing the most beautiful dress you had ever seen! (basically Pyrrha's dress except brown) She spotted you as you were coming down the stairs cause you were moving slow with that cane of yours.  She runs through the crowds and up the stairs.


Velvet: (Y/N)!! You're awake! AND moving! Are you alright? Do you remember who I am? Do-

(y/n): Velvet... I'm fine...Now please don't stand and look at me...Give me a hug!


You and Velvet hug on the stairs.  You heard a few "awe"s and then she let go, looked at Ironwood who was standing next to you, and gave him another...Bunny stare of death...


(y/n): Velvet

Velvet: What?

(y/n): Your bunny stare of death?

Velvet: Yeah, what about it?

(y/n): It's not scary.

Velvet: W-what?! I can give a mean stare when I want to!

(y/n): Velvet...Your bunny stare of death is as scary as a basket of bunnies...

Velvet: B-bunnies can be scary...sometimes.

(y/n): Oh yeah, sure, you're doing a great job at it.

Velvet: S-shut up!


She turns super red and kisses you on the cheek and looks over at the General.


Velvet: I swear, if you touch my (y/n) again, I will-

(y/n): Velvet...

Velvet: What?

(y/n): We're cool...Come on, lets go dance!

Velvet: O-ok... Just don't hurt yourself since you're using a cane.

(y/n): Eh, no promises

Velvet: (y/n)

(y/n): I'm kidding, come on, lets go...My honey bunny~


She stopped to kiss you for a few minutes after you said that and you went to the dance floor...


A slow song came on right when you and Velvet hit the dance floor... You held her so softly... Hands on her waist, her hands around your neck.  You had your head resting against her head, right by her shoulders.  You decided to give her a few pecks on the shoulder.  She turned red and looked at you.


Velvet: (y/n)!

(y/n): What?

Velvet: That was...really cute...

(y/n): And?

Velvet: Oh shut up and kiss me~

(y/n): How dare you tell ME to shut up! I'll have you know I am-


Velvet shuts your smart ass up by kissing you.  You sink into the kiss like chocolate melting in your mouth... It was perfect...She was perfect...


Velvet: I'll have you know that you are my boyfriend? That's what you were gonna say right?~

(y/n): Eh, close enough.


You both just chuckle a little and the slow dance song ends.  You both go get some punch and talk to Yang for a little.


Yang: I'm so happy you guys were able to make it!

Velvet: Yeah, It was too long.

Yang: What happened?

Velvet: Um...Let's talk about it another time... Let's just enjoy the night!

(y/n): I second that...Umm...Sorry Yang

Yang: It's alright! I'm happy she's here!

Velvet: Huh?

(y/n): Yang offered me a dance when we realized you may not make it..But you did.

Velvet: Oh... Well you can dance if you want, I'm gonna go talk to Yatsu for a sec, come get me when you're done!

(y/n): O-ok... You sure you're ok with it?

Velvet: Yeah? Why wouldn't I be? As long as she doesn't steal you from me I don't mind.


Velvet leans in to give you a kiss and walks over to Yatsuhashi.  You and Yang went to the dance floor and danced.  You both had a great time and Yang seemed to have a lot of fun too.


(y/n): Honestly, I'm surprised you don't have a date.

Yang: Eh, didn't really want one, I just want to have fun!

(y/n): I can tell.


The next song ends and Yang goes and walks around and talks to others.  You look around and see Velvet talking to Yatsuhashi, you walk over.  At the corner of your eye... You see Cardin looking at Velvet.  He starts to walk over.  You walk over just as quickly. You make it to her side right when Cardin appears.  You hold her waist and she shrieks a little, not realizing it was you.  She then looked at you and then back at Cardin.


(y/n): We got a problem Winchester? Or do you want more than just a broken nose.


Cardin then looked angry and scared at the same time. He walked away.


(y/n): I hope I never have to deal with that problem child again...

Velvet: Thanks babe~


Velvet reeled you in for a kiss...Yatsuhashi just left to go talk to Fox cause he didn't want to intrude on your time together.  You and Velvet spent the rest of the night sitting on the balconies outside.  Eating some of the party food.  Talking. Kissing. And just being in each others company... It was the best night ever!
