Neon x Male reader! Opposites attract! Part 2

You were running... You weren't sure where... But you were running... Yang and Ruby finally caught up to you on Yang's bike.  She pulled in front of you.


Yang: (y/n)!


You slowed down... And she jumped off her bike and held you.


Yang: Oh (y/n)... I'm so so sorry...


You then held her back... And cried in her shoulders.


(y/n): Why... Why would he... He... Had no reason... To join them...


You were still crying her shoulder... Ruby then came over and they both hugged you.


Ruby: I'm sorry (y/n)...


You hugged them both back.


(y/n): Thank you both... So... So much... You two have been... Like sisters...

Ruby: We know (y/n), you feel like a brother to us.


You three then stood out by the street for a few more minutes... Your scroll then started ringing...


(y/n): Who could be calling at this hour?... Copper?


You picked it up.


(y/n): Copper-

Copper: (y/n)! You need to get back here, NOW!


Copper sounded distressed!


(y/n): Copper! What's going on?!

Copper: Some dude just busted down your door! Your mom-


The line then went flat.


(y/n): Copper? COPPER!

Yang: What is it?

(y/n): We need to get back to my house, NOW!


You, Yang, and Ruby get on Yang's bike, and ride back as fast as you can back to your place... When you get there... All you could see were broken windows from outside... The VPD was just now getting there.


(y/n): I'm going in.


Yang and Ruby both grabbed your sleeve... But all it did was take your jacket off of you as the girls kept pulling on the sleeve.


Yang: (y/n)!

Ruby: (y/n)!


You ignored them... It was hard... But you had to make sure your other friends were ok... And your mom... And then you got a horrible feeling in your stomach...


(y/n): (thinking) What if dad did this...


You tried to shrug the thought off as you kept climbing stairs... You got to your floor, and you saw that your door was busted in... You didn't waste a second, you ran in and had your whip and pistol in hand... But all you saw was a trashed up apartment... Your trashed up apartment... You started looking around and calling names.


(y/n): Mom? Copper? Auburn?-


Just then, you heard something from the kitchen.


Mom: (y-y-...


You ran over and found your mother under some debris... You instantly got it off of her... But... She had shards of glass in her stomach.


(y/n): Oh mom! Mom!


You tried to help her up.


Mom: D-d-don't try to m-move m-me... The s-shards hur-rt my s-s-stomach...

(y/n): But I need to get you out of here Mom! I need to get you to the hospital!

Mom: I don't think-...


Just then, the last person you thought would show his face... Did... Your dad came running into the kitchen... He looked as he saw you trying to help your mom up.


Dad: Honey! Are you alright?!

Mom: Oh, s-s-sweetheart...


You looked and gave him a death glare.


Dad: We gotta get her out of here (y/n)!

(y/n): Oh, I know, but I don't need your help!

Mom: (y/n), w-what's g-gotten in-nto y-you?

(y/n): I'll explain later...


You helped your mom up, as your dad looked at both of you... You then realized you still didn't know where your friends were... And that's when you started to hear the screams... From your room.


(y/n): Oh Oum!-

Dad: Go! Get your friends! I'll get mom!


You looked right into his eyes.


(y/n): ...I swear to everything I love... If you so much as hurt her... I will find you... And I will kill you!


Your mom's face was in sudden shock... She had no idea what was going on to where you were giving your father death threats... But, your dad carried her out of the apartment as quickly as he could...


You ran over to your door.


(y/n): GUYS!

Auburn: (y/n)! *cough cough*


Smoke was coming from the bottom of the door... Their must be a fire in your room!


(y/n): Stand back!


You waited a few seconds... And then you tried to run straight through the door... but no luck... You then felt really dumb.


(y/n): I am so dumb at critical moments.


You pulled out your pistol, and shot the lock, open the door in seconds... You ran in... You saw Copper unconscious, and Topaz and Auburn barely breathing.


(y/n): Come on, we gotta get the hell out of here!


You picked up Copper, and you ran out with the girls... And as you were exiting the complex... Your whole apartment was a blaze...



You looked around the second you got out... To make sure that your mom was in an ambulance... And sure enough, she was...


You then helped your friends get to an ambulance... And they were all rushed to the hospital in Vale... They wanted to put you in there too, but you told the emergency responders that you were fine... You sat down on a bench near the area, and took a deep breath.


(y/n): ...I can't believe this...


You then heard Professor Xiao Long behind you... You turned around and he was hugging Ruby and Yang... He then saw you, and the three of them walked over to you.


Tai: Are you alright (y/n)?

(y/n): ...yeah... I guess.


Yang and Ruby came over and squeezed you until you had to beg them to stop.


Ruby: WHAT WERE YOU THINKING!?

Yang: I agree, you could've been killed.

(y/n): ... And my mom and Copper and Topaz and Auburn would've died too... I wasn't going to leave them in there.

Tai: Regardless, that was very brave of you (y/n).

(y/n): ...

Tai: What is it?

(y/n): It's nothing... I'm walking over to the hospital if you want to join me.

Tai: Wait, but where are you going to sleep tonight?

(y/n): Uh, at the hospital? Where else?

Tai: You're always welcome at our place.

(y/n): I appreciate the offer Professor... But... I need to be with my mom right now...

Tai: ...I understand.


You give Yang and Ruby a hug.


Yang: We'll come by tomorrow to see you and see how everyone else is doing.

(y/n): Alright.


You gave Tai a handshake, and the three of them left for home... And you made your way to the hospital...






TIMESKIP TO HOSPITAL.



You get to the hospital, and you let them know who you were.


Nurse: I'm sorry, but your mom was just put into surgery, it might be a while before she gets out.

(y/n): I see...

Nurse: But, you said you knew other people in here?

(y/n): Yes, uh, Copper, Auburn, and Topaz.

Nurse: Copper, Auburn, and- Ah yes, here we are, we put them all in one room... They're all awake at the moment, the doctors are just running a few tests to make sure they didn't inhale too much smoke.

(y/n): I see... Can I see them?

Nurse: Sure, third floor, room 324... Here's your guest pass.

(y/n): Thanks.


You put it on your shirt, and walked up to their room...



When you got there, Copper was laughing/coughing.


(y/n): That sounds lovely.

Copper: Sarcasm duly noted! *cough cough*


You walked over to him, and you did your bro handshake.


(y/n): How ya holding up?

Copper: Oh, ya know... I'm alright.

(y/n): Thanks for calling... I wouldn't have known if it wasn't for you.

Topaz: Well it was my idea, I just told Copper to call you.


You laughed a little.


(y/n): I'm just happy you're all ok... Wait, where's Auburn?


Right on cue, Auburn came in with a doctor.


Doctor: Thankfully, all 3 of your tests came back normal... But, you 3 will need to stay here for a few days, just so we can get your breathing back to normal...

Copper: Understood *cough* thanks doc.


The doctor left and it was the four of you.


Copper: Where's Yang?

(y/n): She went home.

Copper: Oh.

Auburn: Sooo *cough* did anything happen?~

(y/n): ...

Topaz: No way!

(y/n): Relax...It wasn't the good kind...


The three of them looked confused.


Auburn: What do you mean?

(y/n): ...I saw my dad... In an alley...

Copper: ...Sooooo?

(y/n): ...He was wearing a White Fang uniform...


The three of them looked at you in shock.


Auburn: No way!

Topaz: Are you sure it was him?

(y/n): Positive... I took his mask off while I was fighting him... It was him...

Copper: But he helped your mom get out of there!

(y/n): Which means he didn't do it... but that doesn't mean he's a good man... He's clearly hiding something... I still can't believe it...

Auburn: ...I just wonder... If he actually is a member... How long has he been one?

(y/n): I don't know... But I'm going to find out.

Copper: How so?

(y/n): I guess I'll just find clues... Find various White Fang bases.

Topaz: You mean just around the area right?

(y/n): ...no...


The three of them looked at each other.


Auburn: But-

(y/n): I'm sorry... But I need to know why... If he's here, or all the way in Atlas or Haven... I will find him... And I will find out why.

Copper: But you don't know if he's even left the city.

(y/n): Oh, if their is one thing I know about my dad... If he wants to run... He will...


They all got quiet.


Topaz: Just... Don't be gone too long... We start at Beacon in 6 weeks!

(y/n): ...I'm sorry... But that's the last thing on my mind right now...

Copper: ...Look (y/n), I know your upset... But... This has been our dream since we all met... To be huntsman and huntresses, and protect people! And we're only 6 weeks away from attending one of the four great academies!

(y/n): I never said I was throwing it away... If I can be back in 6 weeks, I'll be here... But if not... Then I won't stop until I know why...

Auburn: You can't let this control you (y/n)... You'll find out the answers soon enough.

(y/n): ...That's not good enough.


the three of the them looked at each other... Auburn and Topaz were starting to get upset... Knowing that you were going to leave...


Copper: ...No stopping you huh?


Copper got up from his hospital bed, and put his fist out for a fist bump.


Copper: Kick some ass out there for us! I'd come if I didn't have to stay here for the next few days...

(y/n): ...I know...


You and Copper bro hugged.


Copper: ...You know I love you like a brother right?

(y/n): ...Hell yeah man...


Topaz and Auburn walked over to you. They both hugged you.


Topaz: Be safe.

Auburn: Yeah... Please... Come back in one piece.

(y/n): I'll do my best... I love you guys.


They nodded their heads.


You left the room... And walked to the front desk... The same nurse from before was still there.


Nurse: Happy to see your friends?

(y/n): Yeah... Hey... Do you have a pen and paper I can use?

Nurse: Uh, sure... Here you go.

(y/n): Thanks.


You took them from her, sat in one of the chairs... And wrote your mom a letter.


" Mom... I know your still in surgery... Which is why I'm writing you this... I wanted to tell you in person... But...I can't...Anyway... Dad said he got called in for a late shift for work... But... I found him wearing a White Fang uniform... And he was even doing a deal on the shady side of town... You may not believe me... But I know it was him... So... I'm leaving... I need answers... And since your going to be in the hospital for a while, you deserve answers too... So I'll get them for you and me as fast as I can, and return home to you... I love you more than you could ever imagine... And I thank you for all that you have given me...

- Your son, (y/n)."


You folded it up, and walked back over to the nurse.


(y/n): Could you give this to my mother when she wakes up from surgery?

Nurse: Of course... Not going to stick around?

(y/n): ...I've got business to handle.


You said it in almost a cruel way... The nurse was slightly scared when you said it... You turned around, and walked out of the hospital...



You looked to the sky... It was completely dark... The night sky was so beautiful to you... You pulled out your scroll...


(y/n): ... I should probably get rid of this.


You drop it on the ground, and stomp on it...



You started walking... All you had were your pistol, and your new dust whip... And the wallet you had in your back pocket... Not knowing where you would go... Or how far you'd go... But you knew... That you wouldn't rest... Until you knew the truth...
