Emerald x Male Reader! Love is priceless! Part 8!

Torchwick: ...Asher...

Asher: Hellooo little brother! I hear you're in a cell on a big ship!

Torchwick: How did you?-

Asher: Teehee! You're older brother is smarter than he looks!

Torchwick: That's a shocker...

Asher: Anyway, I might be able to help you get out of there little bro-


The line was cut off... Torchwick saw some kind of device in his hand.


Ironwood: I could hear that.

Torchwick: Believe me General, I didn't want to hear from that psychopath.


Torchwick tossed the scroll back to the General, and Torchwick's cell door was once again, closed...



IN CINDER'S ROOM.


Emerald: You wanted to see me ma'am?

Cinder: Yes... I want to ask you something.

Emerald: What is it?

Cinder: One, why were you "getting busy" with (y/n)?


Emerald blushed, but looked at Mercury who was sitting on the floor... She really wanted to punch him again for him snitching on her.


Emerald: ...I...

Cinder: You have feelings of love for him?

Emerald: ...Yes ma'am... It's hard to describe... I just feel attached to him...

Cinder: Hmm... So what do you think will happen to him once our plan unfolds? Do you think he'll live?

Emerald: Ma'am?!

Cinder: He doesn't seem like the man you thought he used to be... He seems too soft.

Emerald: But-

Cinder: Unless you think you can convince him otherwise.


Emerald stayed quiet for a few minutes.


Cinder: That's what I thought... Oh well... Anyway, I have another question.

Emerald: Yeah?

Cinder: What happened during that battle with Mercury?

Emerald: What do you mean?

Mercury: How the hell did he just disappear out of nowhere, and then come back into view in seconds... Was it his semblance?

Emerald: ...No... He's a chameleon Faunus.

Cinder: Really?

Mercury: Huh... That makes sense.

Emerald: Yeah, it's what made him a good thief... He used his Faunus trait, and I would use my semblance...

Mercury: Huh... Well, I hate to admit it, but he did put up a good fight.

Emerald: I was hoping he'd kick your ass!


Emerald stuck her tongue out at Mercury.


Cinder: Hmm...

Emerald: What is it ma'am?

Cinder: ...I have just one... Just one idea left.

Emerald: For what?

Cinder: How badly do you want your precious (y/n) to join our cause?

Emerald: Badly... I just don't want to lose him again...

Cinder: Then you will let this idea happen even if you don't like it.

Emerald: M-Ma'am?!

Cinder: Don't worry, he'll on our side in no time... Just let Mercury handle it.

Emerald: No... I don't want him t-

Cinder: Emerald...

Emerald: ...Yes ma'am.

Cinder: Good... Now, both of you should go to bed... Mercury, I'll give you the details in the morning.


Mercury smirked in delight.


Mercury: Alright!

NEXT MORNING!  BACK TO YOU!



You woke up at about 8:30 AM... Today was the first day of the Vytal Festival! You didn't have a team yet, so you weren't fighting, but you'd be able to see team JEMM and Emerald's team in action, so that would be something to look forward to.  You got a shower and got dressed, and headed down to the cafeteria to get some breakfast before the matches began. You got in line to get some food when-


*WHACK*


You felt a tray hit the back of your head, and you almost fell over.


(y/n): The hell was that for?

Random guy: Sorry, I thought you'd change color if I hit you with it, but I guess you suck at being a Faunus more than most!


The guy and 2 of his friends started laughing.  But you weren't really paying attention.  You were more surprised that they knew you were a Faunus.


(y/n)(thinking): How did they find out I was a Faunus? Better yet... How'd they know I was a chameleon Faunus?!


You shook your head, and walked away from them, and quickly got your food.


(y/n)(thinking): Hope I don't have to-


*YANK*


You were tugged back on your shirt, causing you to fall back, and land on the ground.  Along with you landing on your ass, your tray of food made a perfect landing... On your face.


Random guy's friend: Haha! Nice one! Now maybe he'll change to be the color of that milk dripping down his face.


The three of them continued to laugh... For you, this was something you didn't think would happen, and you weren't mentally prepared for it either...


You tried to not think about what just happened, and you tried to get up off the floor.


Random guy: Oh no you don't!


You got shoved back on the ground... But-


Goodwitch: That's enough!


The three "bullies" looked back, and whimpered in fear... You were looking at the ground, embarrassed on how you were just treated.


Goodwitch: What are you three doing?! One! This is the first day the Vytal Festival! Two! We NEVER bully other students! Faunus or not!


Goodwitch spent the next 5 minutes scolding them in the cafeteria.  People just watched and laughed... Which got you thinking.


(y/n))(thinking): Does anyone even care about if I'm ok or not?


You slowly got up from the floor, and slowly walked out of the cafeteria... Not only did no one ask you if you were ok after being "attacked"... But not a soul even looked at you... Almost like EVERYONE in there thought the same as the three bullies, or they were just too busy laughing at Goodwitch scolding them... Either way, it's not like you wanted attention, but a "hey, are you alright?" would've made your already shitty day a little better.


You were now out of the cafeteria, and you realized you would have to change into different clothes, and wash the ones you had.


(y/n): Great... I'll probably miss the first match because of this... I hope I don't miss Emerald's fight...


You walked back to your dorm to take another shower to get the milk out of your hair... After your shower, you changed into the only other clothes you had, your school uniform... You then went to the bottom floor to the washer and dryer, and put them through the cycle.


TIMSKIP 1 HOUR!


After they were done, you folded them up, went back to your room, and placed them on your bed.


(y/n): I'm already wearing this, so I'll just stay in this for the day... Hopefully I don't bump into those guys again...


You left your dorm, and went to the transports to take you to the arena...

...

When you got there, the second match had just finished...


Port: Now for the third match, we have Team JEMM vs Team CMEN!


You had just made it to the arena seats when you hear Professor Port shout that on the intercom.


(y/n): You've got to be kidding me...


You go down to the student section in front, and find an empty seat... You look down at the arena as the two teams faced each other... You of course were undecided on who you wanted to win...

...

Port: And with that, Team CMEN pulls away with the victory!!


The audience cheered.  You sighed in relief that the fight was over.


(y/n): Man, that was close.

Yang: Damnit!


You almost jumped in your seat, not realizing how close Yang was.


Yang: Oh, (y/n) right?

(y/n): Yeah.

Yang: Sorry, didn't mean to startle you.

(y/n): It's alright, I just didn't realize you guys were here.


Yang's team then got up.


Yang: Alright, We're gonna head down to the courtyard, see ya!

(y/n): Bye...


You got up as well, and went out by the concessions to greet both teams.


You get to the concessions in a few minutes, you think about maybe getting something to eat since breakfast hadn't gone as planned... You looked around-


*WHACK*


Your head swung forward as you felt a hand hit your head.  


(y/n): Are you fu-


*SLAP*


You got slapped again just as you turned around.



(y/n): That's it!


You immediately started throwing punches once you turned around.


Cardin: OW!

Dove: Hey!


You kicked Cardin in the chest, knocking him to the ground.  You then punched Dove square in the face. Both ran off after that.


Ozpin: Mr. (l/n), is their a reason you're beating up students on your first week?


You turned around, and saw the headmaster, along with the General of Atlas Military.


(y/n): I'm sorry Professor, but they were messing with me...

Ozpin: So you beat them up?

(y/n): They kept hitting me in the head!


The Headmaster sighed.


Ozpin: And why would they do that?

(y/n): I don't know... Some other group of guys messed with me in the cafeteria this morning because they found out I was a Faunus. So I'd say it's the same reason for them if I had to guess.

Ozpin: ...In any case, you can't just go around knocking people out.

(y/n): No offense Professor, but I highly doubt you've ever been discriminated against.


The headmaster was at a pause, and the General seemed to frown at you for back-talking... He was about to say something, when praise the lord, Emerald showed up.


Emerald: Hey (y/n).


She walked over and hugged your arm.


(y/n): Oh, hey Emerald, great match!


The headmaster and General veered away from you, and the rest of Emerald's team walked towards you as well.


Emerald: What was that about?

(y/n): It's nothing... Just kind of had an annoying start to the day.

Emerald: Oh, I'm sorry.

(y/n): It's alright, I got to see your match, and that's what's important to me.

Emerald: Yeah.


You two smiled at each other, and then you saw Cinder trying to get Emerald's attention.


(y/n): Hey Em.


You pointed towards Cinder to show that she was trying to get her attention... Emerald saw, and walked over to Cinder.

...

Emerald then walked back over to you after a few minutes.


Emerald: Sorry, I gotta go...

(y/n): Guess you don't have a lot of free time huh?

Emerald: I'm sorry... I was hoping I would, but it seems not... Anytime I'm not doing anything with them, I'll let you know.

(y/n): Alright... I'll see you around.


You kissed her on the cheek before she left, and she blushed.


(y/n): Seems like Emerald is the only person who wants to be nice to me today...


You had already had enough of people for one day... You decided to relax in your dorm for the rest of the day, just doing whatever you wanted to do at the pleasure of your own company...

NEXT DAY!


Today was the second day of the Vytal Festival, and it was the round of 2v2s... You once again did the same routine you did the day before, got a shower, changed into clothes, and went down to the cafeteria before the matches started... You looked around a little more carefully this morning just to make sure those jerks weren't around this time... Thankfully, it seemed that Professor Goodwitch scared them away enough for you to get your breakfast, and eat in peace...

...

After eating breakfast, you went back to your room to relax a little more before the matches...


After laying around your dorm, you went to the transport platform, and made your way to the arena.


When you got there, you immediately saw those 2 guys who tried to mess with you... You weren't scared or anything since you made them run off, but you were keeping your eye on them just in case they tried to pull something else on you... You got into the arena, and sat in the student section... But the second you did, the students around you moved to seats that were farther away from you.


(y/n)(thinking): The hell is everybody moving for?


You ignored it, and proceeded to watch some the matches...

Port: Next up! Emerald Sustrai and Mercury Black VS Coco Adel and Yatsuhashi Daichi!


You got on the edge of your seat to watch the battle carefully... You were eager to see Emerald in action again... Something about the way she fights... It was mysterious, yet effective. It made your heart race a little just watching.

Port: And with that! Emerald and Mercury are the victors!


Some of the audience cheered, some didn't... Either way, you were happy that Emerald and Mercury made it on through.  You were so proud of Emerald... The beautiful woman she has become since you had first met her... Of course, some of her qualities from before were still with her, but it made you love her even more... You got up from your seat to go to the concessions and meet Emerald there, and you were hoping Cinder wouldn't drag her away like yesterday.


You were waiting by the concessions for about 10 minutes, when-


*SPLASH*


You felt a water dust crystal hit you back, and turn to water on contact.  Now your entire back was soaking wet.


(y/n): The hell?!


You turned around to see those same two boys... With their other two teammates.


Cardin: Nail him!


You realized they had an entire bag of water crystals, and they were throwing them at you.  You did your best to dodge, and get out of the situation, but they started coming from 4 different directions.  And once they started nailing your face, it was hard enough staying on your feet.


But you had enough of this "torture"


(y/n): ...ENOUGH!


When you shouted that... Fire had unleashed from your mouth, and shot towards Cardin, one of the four bullies.  It burned him a little, enough for him to whimper.


(y/n): WHY THEY HELL WON'T YOU LEAVE ME ALONE!?  


You had shouted at the top of your lungs... You had enough of being messed with... What you didn't realize... Was that your body had turned red just from you shouting.


Bystander male: Hey, is he a Faunus?

Bystander male 2: Who cares! That's just freaky!

Bystander female: Ew! Why did "it" turn red!?

Bystander female 2: Let's get out of here before "it" burns my hair.


It was pretty obvious the reaction from the people was not positive... In fact... You lowered your head in shame... The fact that people were so grossed out in you change color... And you had just found out your semblance... But all people saw you as... Was a freak... Some whacked up Faunus...


Having all the sad and embarrassed emotions going through your head... Your body quickly changed to purple... People once again, had comments...


Cardin: Haha! IT turned purple!! Not so tough now, huh!


All you could do was stand there... You had reached your emotional limit... You had been picked on 3 times in 2 days... And this was public humiliation... You tried to be strong... Just like you were when you fought Mercury... But you couldn't... You could beat up 5 guys at a time... But... Being embarrassed and humiliated... You couldn't take it...You had been frozen from all of the comments from other people... You were hated before people even spoke a word to you... And the last thing you wanted to be, was hated...


Emerald: (y/n)!


You heard her beautiful voice... The soft spoken Emerald... But you didn't budge.


Emerald: What the hell happened here?


Emerald then noticed you were soaking wet... Then that you were literally purple.


Emerald: (y/n)! Are you alright?!


Nothing... You couldn't even move your lips.


Cinder: That's enough!


Cinder stood in front of you, telling all of the bystanders off... Team CRDN was quick to leave as well.


Cinder: Emerald, is he alright?


Emerald shook your body a little... Your color slowly started to fade back to it's original color.


Emerald: What happened?

(y/n): ...T-they just k-kept t-throwing th-them... The-they wouldn't s-stop...

Emerald: What were they throwing?

Mercury: From the looks of it, water dust crystals.

Emerald: That's awful! Come on (y/n), I'll bring you back to our rooms to dry off.

(y/n): O-ok...


Emerald and her team escorted you out of the arena and to their dorms... You went to take a warm shower when you got there while they put your clothes in the drying to dry off...


After that, your clothes were dry, and you changed back into them before coming out of the bathroom... You then went into Emerald's room, where Cinder and Mercury were as well...


Emerald: I'm so sorry (y/n).


She walked over and held you in her arms... You were still really cold.


Cinder: It's not fair that you were treated like that... Especially because you're a Faunus.

Mercury: Yeah... Even I don't mind that you're a Faunus.

(y/n): ...Thank you...

Emerald: Come sit, come here.


Emerald pulled you towards her bed, and you two sat on it.


Cinder: I think you need to treat them like they treated you.

Emerald: Cinder, I-

Cinder: Think about it (y/n)... They didn't even take the chance to get to know you... They just went ahead, and bullied you for no reason...

(y/n): ...Yeah...

Mercury: I don't know... but if I were you... I'd want payback...

(y/n): Payback...

Emerald: What is it?


You cracked your knuckles.


(y/n): Payback sounds nice...

BAM! That's it! Do not fret! Like in some of my other stories, I have a reason for ending it right here! (and not at the battle of Beacon)

I know it does seem a little 180 on (y/n)'s personality, but I think some of you can agree that we can crack under pressure sometimes, so that's my reasoning for making this chapter the way it was.  I also wanted to figure a good way out to get (y/n) on Salem's side.

Either way, I still hope you all enjoyed it!
